Former IBO and Commonwealth champion Lee McAllister (34-3, 9KOs) is going to return on a date in October, looking for redemption in the ring after an eight round stoppage loss to Denis Shafikov in February. The fight was close and McAllister was unable to continue at the start of the eight, citing an injured left hand.

He told the Daily Record: “The Commonwealth Council still has to confirm who my opponent is but it’s definitely all systems go. I believe I still have a lot to offer despite my dire performance against Shafikov. I was terrible that night and I’m looking to redeem myself with my fans."

“I’m also keen to put to rest all talk about me retiring. Boxing doesn’t last forever but I am not ready to hang up my gloves. Right now I’m feeling good and I’m keen to get myself back in shape. Provided my arm holds up I’m ready to go again, against whoever is put up as the challenger.”
