According to boxing promoter/manager Vladimir Hryunov, a lucrative proposal was received for Denis Lebedev (24-1, 18KOs) to defend the WBA's interim-cruiserweight title against former champion Jean Marc Mormeck (36-5, 22KOs) in Paris, France.

However, there are issues that exist from making this fight possible. Mormeck has not been a cruiserweight since 2007 and usually weighs between 215 to 216-pounds for his heavyweight outings. He is not ranked under the WBA at cruiser and last month he was dominated and knocked out in four rounds by WBA/IBO/IBF/WBO champion Wladimir Klitschko.

"We received a very good offer from his team to stage the Mormeck fight in Paris - said Hryunov. "But there are problems that jeopardize that fight. To date, Mormeck is not ranked in the cruiserweight ratings of the World Boxing Association. In addition, Mormeck lost his last fight by knockout to Wladimir Klitschko."
