Lateef Kayode (20-1, 16KOs) is very upset with the outcome of Thursday's heavyweight showdown with Luis "King Kong" Ortiz (22-0, 19KOs). The fight took place at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

After going down early in the round, Kayode was stunned in the final minute - which promised Ortiz to trap him against the ropes and unload with combinations. Referee Robert Byrd jumped in to wave things off, causing a irate post-fight demeanor from Kayode.

"The first knockdown was a slip. I went down but it was a slip. The second shot, I was blocking [punches] and I was just coming out of it [from being hurt] and it was an unfair stoppage. You don't stop a title fight until someone goes down," Kayode said.

With the victory, Ortiz becomes the mandatory challenger to WBA 'regular' heavyweight champion Ruslan Chavgaev. Wladimir Klitschko holds the WBA's super title in the division.
