US-based Nigerian Lateef Kayode (18-0-1, 14KOs) has been left seething by the fact that Danny Green and Shane Cameron will collide for the vacant IBO cruiserweight title in Melbourne this coming November 21st in Melbourne.

The 29-year-old had previously taken former champion Antonio Tarver to a credible draw in June - a contest many thought he did enough to win.

Kayode was then expecting a call to be handed another chance at the IBO chamionship after Tarver tested positive for a banned substance, and later he was stripped of the belt.

Kayode has now spoken of his surprise when WBN informed him of Green's fight with Cameron. According to Kayode, he was awaiting news to fight for the vacant belt he fought so hard to rip away from Tarver at the Home Depot Center.

“Our understanding is that we are next in line for the belt,” Kayode told World Boxing News. “We were waiting for the results of Tarver's test and I'm waiting on my promoter and manager to get the results to arrange a fight.”

The Green-Cameron bout will now potentially face opposition from Kayode, at least when it comes to both men fighting for the IBO title.
