Chumash Casino, Santa Ynez, California - Lateef "Power" Kayode (17-0, 14 KOs) won an easy ten round unanimous decision over Matt Godfrey (20-3, 10 KOs). The scores were 98-90, 97-90 and 98-89 for Kayode. Godfrey was down three times in the contest.

After getting off to a decent start, Godfrey was dropped by a looping shot in the final ten seconds of the first round. In the third, Kayode shook Godfrey with a hard shot to the body. Kayode landed a lot of hard shots while the boxers were clinched up. Kayode was unloaded with some hard straight punches to send Godfrey going back into the ropes. In the final minute of the same round, Godfrey seemed to stun Kayode with a hard left hand.

In the fifth round, Kayode came back with a hard right hand to send Godfrey down for the count of eight. Kayode was unloading against the ropes but he couldn't stop Godfrey. During the seventh, Kayode jumped on Godfrey with punches to the head and body against the ropes. Godfrey blocked a lot of the punches and tried to land something when Kayode stopped punching. A bad clash of heads in the eight sent Godfrey down to his knees and his mouthpiece flew out. There was also a sequence where the two boxers were talking trash in the clinch where Godfrey spit in Kayode's face, who responded with a punch to the head.

In the ninth, a shot to the body sent Godfrey down for the third time in the fight. They were trading and again began at taunting battle with both boxers dancing at each other. The tenth round was Godfrey hanging on the ropes for the most of the three minutes, while Kayode was doing all of the work.
