Junior middleweight contender Erislandy Lara has fired back at Alfredo Angulo. The two boxers have been trading words since their June encounter at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California. Lara started fast and controlled the fight with his boxing ability, but the tide began to turn after Angulo dropped him rounds four and nine. Angulo appeared to be in contol until a punch caught him right on the eye in the tenth round. The Mexican boxer turned his back to Lara and started walking away. The referee quickly stopped the fight.

Angulo claims the fight was stopped improperly because Lara intentionally thumbed him in the eye.

"Lara has been talking a lot of sh*t on the internet, on Twitter.  Ask him who is the only guy to put your ass on the floor two times?  It is me.  I have respect for Lara but I don't have respect for the people talking sh*t.  There is a big difference.  I don't like people talking sh*t.  Me, I always keep my mouth shut and train," Angulo stated to BoxingScene.com.

Lara, however, says he caught Angulo with a very good shot and the Mexican fight quit.

"I don't want keep talking about this. Does he not realize he quit? Doesn't matter if you dropped me ten times - you quit. To be honest I know it hurts him to turn his back on a fight but I've never seen a Mexican quit in the ring the way he did," Lara fired off.
