On the night of July 24th in Las Vegas, Main Events is staging a card at the Mandalay Bay featuring light heavyweight kingpin Sergey Kovalev, who will be facing his IBF mandatory Nadjib Mohemmedi. Across town at the Palms Casino and Resort, a Premier Boxing Champions card is taking place with a cruiserweight battle between BJ Flores and former 175-pound champion Beibut Shumenov.

Neither fight figures to draw all that well, but it still splits whatever market there may be.

Kathy Duva, the head of Main Events admitted to BoxingScene.com - "My biggest concern is the anti-competitive behavior of giving away your tickets to everything. I'm concerned that it's already damaged the Vegas market. It does make our job harder."

Kovalev-Mohemmedi will be televised on HBO, while Flores-Shumenov will be broadcast on NBC Sports Network as part of the PBC.

"And now you have another fight and if they're giving tickets away, will people choose to go to that because it's free? I don't know. Sergey Kovalev is something special, he's someone you're going to tell your grandkids you got to see live," said Duva.

"I hope people realize that and they come out to the far more significant event and far more entertaining event."
