Mohegan Sun Casino, Uncasville, Connecticut - Sergey Kovalev (20-0-1, 18KOs) got his most impressive victory to date with a third round TKO of former WBA light heavyweight champion Gabriel Campillo (21-5-1, 8KOs). Kovalev's edge in power was very evident in the first round. He controlled the acrtion in the second and then pressed the attack to hurt, and drop, Campillo in the third. Campillo beat the count was he was dropped for a second time with a combination of shots. Kovalev continued to press and another barrage of shots put Campillo down for a third time in the round, and this time the referee stepped in and waved it off.

Welterweight prospect Jimmy Williams made his pro debut with a fourth round knockout of Noel Garcia (2-16).

In a crossroads middleweight fight for the vacant NABF middleweight title, Curtis Stevens (23-3, 17KOs) destroyed Elvin Ayala (26-6-1, 12KOs) in the first round.

In the first minute, Stevens blasted Ayala down hard with a short left hook. Ayala barely beat the count, but then Stevens drilled him with a barrage of punches to send him down face first and the fight was waved off.  Shortly after the fight there was a minor tussle between the two camps.
