Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer is not backing away from a junior welterweight rematch between Amir Khan (27-3, 19KOs) and WBA/WBC champion Danny Garcia.

Last July Garcia (25-0, 16KOs) knocked out Khan in the fourth round of a Las Vegas unification. Garcia will defend his title on February 9th against Zab Judah. Khan will return on April 20th, possibly in the UK.

Schaefer has already spoken to Garcia's adviser, Al Haymon, who said his fighter is very interested in a rematch with Khan.

"We have targeted April the 20th as [Khan's] next date. The good news is, I have met with Team Garcia's adviser, Al Haymon, and they are definitely on board to do the rematch. So what we have to do, is we have to do the rematch sometime in November or December for Amir's second fight. His first fight in April is possibly going to be in the UK. There are different names for the opponent and I 'm going to be working on that in the next few days to see who we could secure. The plan would be to have him fight in April and then November/December against Garcia," Schaefer told Sky Sports News.
