Khaleel Majid will be back in the ring again very soon.

The rising super-lightweight prospect is from Bolton in England and inked a multi-fight promotional deal with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing in April.

Majid was in action on Saturday at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham, exclusively live on DAZN, as part of the JDNXTGEN card topped by Galal Yafai’s scintillating first-round demolition of Tommy Frank in a defence of the WBC International flyweight title.

‘The Major’ progressed to 11-0 with three quick finishes via a 78-73 points win over Alessandro Fersula and the 25-year-old already has his next fight date.

And Sam Jones, Majid’s adviser, has revealed on social media that his man will be back between the ropes on October 21 after being added to the supporting cast of Jack Catterall’s next fight.

The former undisputed super-lightweight title challenger had a career-best performance last time out, dominating and outpointing Darragh Foley over 12 rounds to win the WBA Inter-Continental title and he will defend the belt at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool against former world champion Jorge Linares.

Japanese-based Venezuelan Linares is 37 and will go into the fight against ‘El Gato’ on the back of three defeats, but the ex-WBC Diamond and WBA world lightweight titlist will be watched from ringside by Majid once he has boxed on the undercard.

Scouser Paddy Lacey will be back in action on the card after a warm-up in his home city, at Grand Central Hall, on September 23, while Aqib Fiaz will meet Reece Bellotti in a super-featherweight contest.

Further additions to the card will be revealed in due course.
