Kevin Satchell has been handed his first fight date in almost a year.

The former British, Commonwealth & European flyweight champion (14-0, 3 KOs) hasn't fought since last March when he finished off the overmatched Walter Rojas inside a round.

But Satchell, 27, has been added to a bill in his home city, which will be screened exclusively live on BoxNation, as he looks ahead to a potentially massive year.

He'll box on February 13 at the scene of his last outing — the ECHO Arena — as part of the supporting cast to Terry Flanagan's WBO world lightweight title defence against hometown favourite Derry Mathews.

"[I'm] made up to be on the Derry [Mathews] v Terry [Flanagan] bill," Satchell admitted on social media.

"[It'll be] my first fight under [the management of] MGM and [will be] the start of a big year for me."

Boxing Scene understands that this fight could be a tune-up — with the possibility of the addition of a minor title — for 'Satch' ahead of a potential assault on the world scene in the 112-pound division.
