Kevin Mitchell knows the stakes could not be higher after making weight for his WBC lightweight championship eliminator against Daniel Estrada later today. Winning the WBC Silver lightweight title will see Mitchell earn a second - and possibly last - world title shot, but he believes the fight has greater significance.

"My career, my future, my children’s futures are at stake, that’s how I look at it now," he told Sky Sports News HQ. "I’ve got a shot at the WBC lightweight title but I look at it like my career and my life is at stake.

"Estrada is a dangerous man - a typical Mexican, he’s very game, very strong. But he can box as well, that’s another thing I’ve looked at in his armoury. But I’ve got the skills to do the damage and take him out of the game.

"I’ve got to use my ability and win. That’s what I do now."
