According to the European Boxing Union, EBU super middleweight champ James DeGale (11-1, 8KOs) will make a mandatory defense of his title against Italian veteran and former WBC king Cristian Sanavia (45-5-1, 13KOs) on April 21 in Denmark.

There is a well circlulated rumor that DeGale-Sanavia will move forward as the co-headliner to a possible main event between Mikkel Kesler (44-2, 23KOs) and WBA interim-super middleweight ruler Brian Magee (36-4-1, 25KOs), who recently knocked out Kessler's countryman Rudy Markussen at Brindby Hallen.

But there is a problem with that rumor, Kessler is scheduled to face WBO champion Robert Stieglitz on April 14 - a fight that's been finalized since late 2011. However, there are rumors from various sources that this fight won´t happen.

"I have seen it, you have seen it, we are not the listed promoters [of DeGale-Sanavia] and I can't tell you anything," said Sauerland Event's CEO Chris Meyer with a big smile.
