BoxingScene.com caught up with former welterweight champion Kermit Cintron, who faces Carlos Molina on Saturday in the co-feature bout to the Brandon Rios-Urbano Antillon main event.  Both fights will be televised by Showtime.

Cintron held his training camp in Houston with his trainer Ronnie Shields. The heavy handed fighter leaves for Southern California tonight where he will wrap up his fight preparations. The fight takes place at the Home Depot center which is located just outside of Los Angeles in Carson, CA.

"Today we wrapped up camp in Houston.  Training went great.  I'm feeling strong and I'm in great shape. I will be finishing up the last two days of training in California," Cintron told BoxingScene.com.

The fighter of Puerto Rican descent plans on moving down to welterweight after the Molina fight. Cintron last fought at the junior middleweight limit when he faced Paul Williams last year. This fight is contracted at a catchweight of 152 pounds which is designed to help bring Cintron down to the 147 pound welterweight limit.  Judging by Cintron's current weight he will have no problem getting down to the welterweight limit.

"I'm feeling strong and in great shape. I left the gym today at 150lbs," said Cintron.

Cintron wants to let the fans know that he plans on putting on a show on Saturday night.  Molina is a crafty veteran who recently battled the undefeated Erislandy Lara to a draw. "Fans should expect a great fight out of me come this Saturday.  I'm looking to come out winning spectacular."
