Welterweight contender Kell Brook is advising his close friend, junior middleweight Ryan Rhodes, to have one last fight and then retire from the sport. Rhodes, 35-years-old, was stopped a few weeks ago by Sergey Rabchenko. Brook doesn't want to see Rhodes being used as a name opponent for up and coming fighters on the Britsh boxing scene.

Rhodes (46-6, 31KOs) began his career in 1995 and found success over the years, but he suffered two bad defeats, by knockout, in two of his last three appearances in the ring.

“Maybe Ryan should have one more fight and come away,” suggested Brook to the Sheffield Star. “He’s a winner and I can’t see him enjoying himself at British level against fighters who are just coming through. He has a beautiful family and a business and he’s got to think about what’s next. I’d love to see him go out in a winning way.”
