Karim Mayfield scored a fifth round stoppage of Ray Serrano in a battle of unbeaten prospects Friday evening at Times Union Center in Albany, NY.

Mayfield scored a knockdown in the third and a far more convincing one at the end of the fourth round, causing mass confusion in between rounds. Once order was restored, Mayfield was all business in closing the show at 0:47 of round five.

FULL REPORT TO COME...

Jason Escalera (13-0-1, 12KO) and Nick Brinson (9-1-2, 5KO) battled to a split decision in their eight-round televised thriller. Scores were 76-75 Escalera, 76-75 Brinson and 76-76 even. Escalera had Brinson in serious trouble in round seven, but could not close the show or even properly follow up enough to make a dent in the two cards that didn't land in his favor.

Anthony Jones (2-0-1, 0KO) scored two knockdowns en route to a unanimous decision over fighter/publicist Kevin Rooney Jr. (4-1, 2KO) in the televised opener. Scores were 39-35 and 38-36 (twice). Jones scored a questionable knockdown in the opening round but a far more convincing sequence in round two sealed the deal for the Newark southpaw.
