Humacao, Puerto Rico - After a few months of inactivity, Humacao's strong puncher from Puerto Rico, Jose "Chino" Lopez, will be back in the ring next month, on a date in August, in a six round bout in the super lightweight division.

At only 25 years old and a professional record of 9 victories, without defeats, and 7 overwhelming victories by way of knockout (6 out of the 7 KO’s within the first 3 rounds), this youngster is touted as one of the main hopes of Puerto Ricans to become world champion.

Chino expressed great enthusiasm about his return to the ring: "I am very happy and very grateful that I will fight again. I'm as focused as ever and motivated like never."

For his part, the manager and father of Chino, Rafael Lopez, described his pupil as an attractive and explosive boxer with a fan friendly style that fans like.

"Chino is a warrior. Strong and big puncher. We are heading all the way up.  He has all the tools to become one of the main attractions from the Island”, stated Don Rafael.

Chino’s last fight was last December, where he finished fellow Puerto Rican Antonio Sánchez in a sensational first round KO.  Chino is a free agent and is currently evaluating several offers received from various promoters and finalizing plans for his August return.  A decision will be announced soon.
