Veteran and former champion Jorge Solis (40-3-2, 29 KOs) has promised his fans in Mexico to return with the WBA super featherweight title. Solis, the interim-beltholder, faces undefeatd champion Takashi Uchiyama (17-0, 14KOs) on December 31st at the Bunka Gym in Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan. In the co-headliner, local hero Satoshi Hosono will challenge WBA featherweight champion Celestino Caballero.

Uchiyama knocked out Solis' countryman Juan Carlos Salgado to capture the title in 2010. He retained the title three times, with wins over Angel Granados, Roy Mukhlis and Takashi Miura.

Solis, the former WBA interim-champion, dropped his title to move down in weight for a fight with Yuriorkis Gamboa, but got knocked out in four rounds in the March 2011 contest.

The company confirmed that the fighter Zanfer Jalisco Jorge "Coloradito" Solis, a former super featherweight world champion World Boxing Association, will seek to recover the crown, when he takes on Japanese Takashi Uchiyama the 31st of this month in Yokohama, Japan.

Solis is training full steam on a ranch in Michoacan, away from any temptation, seeking to enter the ring on fight night in exceptional physical condition. Solis is brother of IBF junior flyweight champion Ulises "Archie" Solis, and wants to join his brother as champion.
