On Friday a press conference was held in Caracas to announce the super lightweight interim title fight between the Venezuelan Johan Pérez and Paul Spadafora on November 30 in United States.

Pérez was accompanied by the President of the World Boxing Association, Gilberto Mendoza, his trainer Jorge Zerpa and his manager, Rafael Moron.

Regarding his WBA world title bout, Mendoza encouraged Perez: "Johan has the mission to rescue what he let go. That's yours for your effort. 'Be the Johan you can be" - in reference to the interim belt he lost in Mexico with Pablo César Cano.

On his part, Perez said to be well and ready to regain his black and gold belt and said: "I'm only thinking about being the winner. We've already slowed down the pace and we are close to the weight, and it is the first time that I am as well.

His trainer, Jorge Zerpa ratified it, and said that at ten days from the fight he is only 2 pounds above his weight "He has 100 rounds of sparring with different partners. We worked in the sea and the sand."

Zerpa said that the former champion is ready to fight, "we did sufficiency tests and he passed them well."

Perez confirmed the information given by his team and added "I thought that making the weight would be difficult, but it wasn’t. If all goes well, on Saturday I will regain my belt."
