At Club Nokia in Los Angeles, California, welterweight prospect Jesse Vargas (14-0, 7 KOs) won an unanimous eight round decision over Cristian Favela (19-31-7, 10 KOs). The scores were 79-73, 78-74 and 77-75. Favela did much better than expected and pushed the action. He was able to land good punches to make the action close and won over the crowd. Vargas still did enough to take the fight by landing the more calculated punches.

Up and coming middleweight Bastie Samir (10-0, 10 KOs) continued his streak of knockouts with a third round stoppage of Eddie Hunter (4-6-2, 2 KOs). Hunter went with the wrong strategy by trying to fight it out with Samir, and he paid the price by taking some very big shots before the contest was called.

Lightweight prospect Jamie Kavanagh (5-0, 2KOs) won a lopsided six round decision over Ramon Flores (3-11-2, 3 KOs). All three judges had it 60-54.
