Golden Boy Promotions has seen several fights fall apart in the first quarter of 2013 due to injuries and BoxingScene.com has been advised the run of bad luck continues as Jayson Velez has suffered a fracture in his ankle and is pulling out of his March 2nd fight against WBC featherweight champion Daniel Ponce De Leon.

The fight was scheduled to headline a Showtime televised tripleheader at the Apollo Theatre in New York.

Velez released a copy of the doctor's note. He suffered the injury while using the stairs after exercising in a swimming pool.

There is no word as to whether or not the entire card will be postponed.
