Javon Walton has been forced to withdraw from his upcoming bout due to a medical infection, his promoter announced Monday.

Walton (1-0-1), an 18-year-old pro from Atlanta who also has a flourishing acting career, was declared "medically unfit to compete" ahead of his four-round junior lightweight fight against Erik Hanley, which had been scheduled as the co-main event of the Most Valuable Prospects 8 card Sept. 6 at the Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando, Florida.

"Javon’s well-being is our top priority," said Nakisa Bidarian and Jake Paul, co-founders of Most Valuable Promotions, in a press release statement. "While we are disappointed that he will not be able to compete at Most Valuable Prospects 8 on Friday, Sept. 6, we are confident that he will make a full recovery and return to the ring stronger than ever. We appreciate the support from his family, fans and the boxing community during this time."

MVP and Boxlab Promotions, the event's officially licensed promoter, are in the process of finding a replacement for Walton, who has had roles in "Euphoria," "The Umbrella Academy" and other productions in his young acting career.

Headlining the Most Valuable Prospects 8 card will be a junior welterweight 10-rounder between Kevin Brown (5-0, 3 KOs) and John Bauza (18-1, 8 KOs), while Hendri Cedeno (13-0, 10 KOs) will face Enriko Gogokhia (13-1-2, 8 KOs) at 140 pounds and middleweight Yoelvis Gomez (7-1, 6 KOs) will face an opponent to be determined.
