Rising heavyweight contender Jarrell Miller (18-0, 16KOs) believes former two division world champion David Haye is running from a potential fight with heavyweight veteran Shannon Briggs, who is a former WBO world champion.

Haye (28-2, 26KOs) and Briggs (60-6-1, 53KOs) were both in action on May 21 at the O2 Arena in London, where they picked up easy knockout wins against overmatched opponents. The show as used a tool to hype up a Haye-Briggs showdown for the fall.

Haye has been inactive for several years and only had three rounds rounds of non-competitive fighting since knocking out Dereck Chisora in 2012. He snapped his layoff in January of this year.

In the weeks leading up to their May doubleheader of sorts, Haye personally promised Briggs a fall showdown - if Briggs appeared on his undercard and won by knockout.

After weeks had passed with zero communication, Briggs announced that he was moving on with a planned return in December.

"I just got great news from Kris Lawrence, the Heavyweight Fight Factory CEO. I’ll be fighting in December. The show must go on. I scared the sh*t out of David Feathers a/k/a David Haye, so now I have to go another route. What’s his excuse? You ain’t ready? I pulled your hair? I cyber bullied you? Your toe hurting again? I’m dying to see the pie they dig up for your next pie fight," stated Briggs.

Miller has no idea why Haye refuses to finalize that fight. Briggs, although facing lackluster competition over the last few years, has generated worldwide headlines with his stalking antics on Wladimir Klitschko. A fight with Haye would be a hot ticket seller in the UK - which is why Miller is stumped on why the fight has been abandoned.

"I'm like, dude fight somebody," said Miller to Sky Sports. "Regardless if you think that Shannon Briggs is worth the challenge, he's creating some noise, he's making excitement, and he's definitely won a couple of fights against bums like you did too.

"Why don't two past champions just fight and get it over with and then we can see who is the man from there. Shannon Briggs is definitely up for the challenge, but David Haye wants no part of that."
