Jamie Cox will return to the ring later this month as he looks to get his career back on track.

The undefeated super-middleweight (20-0, 12 KOs) has been out of the ring since last November, when he destroyed Ferenc Albert inside a round at the National Stadium in Dublin in a defence of the WBO European crown.

Cox, a former Commonwealth super-lightweight champion and Commonwealth Games gold medal winner as an amateur, has had out-of-the-ring issues which have led to his absence.

But the 30-year-old Swindon man, who is promoted by Frank Warren, will make his comeback on September 24, exclusively live on BoxNation, as part of the undercard to a world title show.

The show, which is topped by Derby-based Jamaican cruiserweight Ovill McKenzie in a challenge for the IBO world title against German legend Marco Huck, will take place at the Festhalle in Frankfurt.

No opponent has yet been revealed for the skillful southpaw, but it is expected that a foe will be named in the next week or so.

"I received confirmation from John Hogg that the ANBF has approved Steven Spark vs Mark Ramirez for the vacant light welterweight title which is great news," Smith said.

"This pair was originally meant to meet on August 20 for the title but Stevie had to withdraw because of a hand injury.

"He's recovered from that and will be ready to go by October 22 and Mark Ramirez is battle hardened, seasoned and a former State champion.

"It's a good fight and by far the biggest test of Steven Spark's career.

"Adding to the big news Jamie Hilt will finally get the shot he deserves.

"He's been waiting in the background doing everything right and putting himself in the box seat for a shot.

"Now he's finally got it, the winner of the Jamie Hilt vs Luke Travers bout will be crowned the new Queensland welterweight champion .
