Craig Richards is eager to get another shot at a title after securing his second straight win.

‘The Spider’, who stepped in to face Frank Buglioni at less than a weeks’ notice for the British light-heavyweight title last September, lost his undefeated record to ‘The Wise Guy’.

Richards then got back on the horse in March, at the O2 Arena in London, with a stoppage victory against Ivan Stupalo.

At York Hall, kicking off the latest instalment of Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing’s JDNXTGEN series, the 28-year-old extended his ledger to 12-1 with six early.

He dominated against Bosko Misic before landing a sweet left-hook to the body in the third round which sent his man to the canvas.

The referee, Bob Williams, called a halt to the contest after that attack, with the time coming at just 75 seconds of the round.

And afterwards, Richards reaffirmed his desire for another shot at a belt soon.

Jake Ball, the WBA Inter-Continental champion, took to social media shortly after having a  ringside view of Richards’ win.

“How do you fancy it for my belt in July?” he said. “[The pair’s promoter] Eddie Hearn is ready, I’m ready, so let’s give the fans a proper fight.”

Boxing Scene understands Hearn and Matchroom will be back in London on July 28, at the O2 Arena, exclusively live on Sky Sports, with Kell Brook’s next fight.

It is also believed that Olympic bronze medallist Joshua Buatsi, as well as undefeated welterweight talent Conor Benn, will box on the card, with further names to be revealed in due course.

Also on the JDNXTGEN card, Commonwealth Games gold medal winner Sean McGoldrick, from Newport in Wales, went the distance against Craig Derbyshire, before outpointing him by 60 points to 54 to advance his ledger to six undefeated.
