Venezuelan super lightweight Jaider Parra (28-2-1) upset local hero Nicolas Gonzales (20-2) and won on a knockout in the twelfth and final round to win the vacant WBA Intercontinental title in the headliner of this Rimer Boxe promotion at the Pabellon Fernando Martin in Fuenlabrada (Spain).

Gonzales tired badly and was bleeding heavily from the nose as Parra poured it on and finally Gonzales went down on one knee and was counted out. Gonzales' only other loss came against Ruben Nieto last year in an all Spanish matchup for the EBU title.

In the chief support, Marc Vidal (8-1-4) won the vacant EU featherweight title with a split decision over Sergio Prado (13-7-1). All cards read 116-112 with two for Vidal and one for Prado.

On the undercard always ready Ukrainian-Italian Serhyi Demchenko (17-11-1) won on a points over Bojan Radovic (4-15). Demchenko have fought all over Europe by, often as a last minute substitute at middleweight, super middle or light heavy, and always give a good account of himself.

IN OTHER NEWS: Danish light heavyweight Jeppe Morell (6-0) takes on tough journeyman Bernard Donfack (23-14-3) in a eight-round chief support to Daniel Heinze vs Derrick Findley on February 11 in Copenhagen. Donfack beat Oscar Ahlin in his last visit to Denmark and it looks like a very tough matchup for the talented but inexperienced Dane.

Sauerland Event announced the signing of amateur Tomi Honka but did not announce the plans for a show in April in Finland with heavyweight Robert Helenius on top reports Juhani Gronberg at knock-out.dk.

Nothing is set yet and Helenius apparently has other options as well. One could be fighting on a show in Abo where EBU lightweight champ Edis Tatli will make a voluntary defence of the title in March or April.
