Welterweight contender Rafal Jackiewicz (38-10-1, 19 KOs) is very upset with the referee's decision to stop Saturday's fight with Kell Brook (25-0, 17 KOs). The bout, being fought for a mandatory shot at WBA champion Vyacheslav Senczenki, was stopped in the sixth round. Jackiewicz admits that he was losing the fight, but says he was waiting for the second half of the contest to turn up the pace and doesn't understand why the ref jumped in to wave it off in the sixth. It was the first time that Jackiewicz had ever been stopped in his long career. He was so upset that he nearly walked over and socked the referee.

"The verdict is very unfair to me, because it really affected my pride. And I didn't really lose to Brook, but to the referee. He knocked me out. It was a normal fight. It was a normal exchange of punches. He hit me with one punch, and then the other three were blocked, and at this point the referee stopped the fight. I will say, frankly, that for a moment I thought about going up to the referee and knocking his teeth out. But I didn't do it because I was afraid that I would receive a high financial penalty, and I can not afford to do something like that," Jackiewicz said.

Jackiewicz does not plan to retire. He wants to return to action on November 12th.

"I have already spoken with the promoter Peter Werner, and with trainer Fedor Lapin and I decided that I want to continue fighting. I will not give up. Most likely, my next fight will happen on November 12 at the shipyards in Gdynia, and then perhaps I will even have another one in December," he added.
