According to WBA light heavyweight champion Beibut Shumenov, his Showtime televised unification with IBF champion Bernard Hopkins, 49-years-old, has a finalized date of April 19th. Although the fight was reportedly going to happen in Texas or the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, the match is going to headline a card at the D.C. Armory in Washington, D.C. Hopkins (54-6-2, 32 KOs) wants to unify all of the titles in his division, with Shumenov (14-1, 9 KOs) being his first step. Shumenov recently signed on with adviser Al Haymon and also reached an agreement with Golden Boy Promotions.
