A week ago, world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury withdrew from his rematch with Wladimir Klitschko, after he injured his ankle in training.

Fury didn’t give a new date for the fight, which was scheduled to take place on July 9 in Manchester. Speaking last Friday in a video posted on his Instagram account, Fury says he sprained his ankle 10 days ago while running, and that doctors said to keep off it for six-to-seven weeks.

Fury says “the fight will be postponed. Sorry to all fans, to let you all down, but injuries do happen.” Fury won a decision over Klitschko in November in Duesseldorf, Germany to capture the IBO, IBF, WBO and WBA belts.

Two division world champion David Haye is no stranger to Fury. They were scheduled to face each other, twice. Haye withdrew both times due to injury, and Fury has been tearing him apart ever since.

Haye says Fury was having a good time at Euro 2016 and moving around very well on both legs, which makes the London fighter believe the injury was not that serious to begin with..

Haye told Sky Sports: "I know I got a lot of criticism from Fury, but maybe now that he's had an injury he will understand that sometimes there's nothing you can do. I had to have an operation on my shoulder which put me out for over a year, and out of the ring for two years. Tyson's done an ankle, but he doesn't seem too injured.

"I saw him dancing around during the Euros, so his injury can't be that bad. I reckon he'll recover quickly and get back on it. It wasn't amusing, I wanted to see the fight. Tyson's first scheduled bout with Wladimir was called off when Klitschko got injured, and that delayed the fight for a few weeks. So you can't really give Tyson too much stick."
