Former European champion Matthew Hatton is praising Saturday's performance by rising welterweight star Kell Brook (27-0, 18KOs). Over 10,000 fans at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield witnessed Brook outclass Matthew Hatton over twelve rounds.

Last March, Hatton went the twelve round distance with WBC junior middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez of Mexico. Hatton claimed the higher weight and the size difference was the reason for his loss to Alvarez, but he made no excuses about his loss to Brook. He says Brook broke his nose in the very first round and the punishment only got worse as the fight went along.

"I rate Kell very highly after that. He's the best fighter I've faced and I include Alvarez in that. Kell broke my nose in the first round and I didn't think things could get much worse. I was wrong about that," Hatton said.
