The July 14 card featuring the junior-welterweight unification bout between Amir Khan and Danny Garcia brought in a total attendance of 6,511 — with about half of those fans buying their tickets and the other half getting in for free.

A total of 3,147 tickets were sold, another 3,364 were given away, and 737 tickets went unsold, according to figures provided by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

The seven-fight card, held at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, brought in a total gate of $426,150. The main event, which aired on HBO, saw Garcia stop Khan in the fourth round. The victory brought Garcia’s record to 24-0 with 15 knockouts. Khan, meanwhile, fell to 26-3 with 18 knockouts.

Those numbers are much better than those of another card held in the city on the same day. A card at the Palms Hotel Casino Resort headlined by a middleweight bout between Anthony Mundine and Bronco McKart sold only 286 tickets, with another 992 given out for free and 672 going unsold.
