Jahnsportforum, Neubrandenburg, Germany - Polish boxer Grzegorz Proksa (26-0, 19KOs) became a star with a third round stoppage of former IBF champion Sebastian Sylvester (34-5-1, 16KOs) to capture the vacant EBU middleweight title. After dominating the first round with his very quick hands, a bad cut opened up above the right eye of Sylvester in the second. Sylvester was very sluggish and the cut was bleeding like a river. After taking a pounding in the third round, Sylvester's corner had seen enough and told the referee to stop the contest.
