BoxingScene.com has been advised that undefeated Cuban Luis "King Kong" Ortiz (22-0, 19KOs) will face Matias Ariel Vidondo (20-1-1, 18KOs) on the Gennady "GGG" Golovkin- David Lemieux pay-per-view undercard. The card takes place October 17th at the Madison Square Garden in New York with the vacant WBA interim heavyweight title at stake.

Ortiz's promoter Golden Boy has had a lot of difficulty securing an opponent for the hard hitting Cuban. Fighters such as Bryant Jennings, Bermane Stiverne and others have all turned down offers.

Ortiz is ranked #8 by the WBA while Vidondo of Argentina is ranked #15. The fighters ranked above Ortiz either have already secured mandatory fights against the regular champion Ruslan Chaegaev (Fres Oquendo and Lucas Browne), have a fight lined up against super champion Wladimir Klitschko (Tyson Fury), or turned down the opportunity to fight for the title.
