It was announced a few hours ago that undefeated super middleweight George Groves (15-0, 12KOs) would face former world light heavyweight champion Glen “The Road Warrior” Johnson (51-17-2, 35KOs) on December 15th in London.

WBN caught up with Glen Johnson just a few minutes ago regarding the announcement.

“Well I don’t know if I’m going to face him in December. I know my people called me and told me that there was an interest for me to fight.  I really don’t know his name. They just said there was an interest for to go to England and fight somebody.

“I said yes I’m interested. I’ve been bored this whole time not fighting. All they said that there was interest and I said let’s do it. This is the first I am hearing of it being official.

“I really don’t know much more than there being just an interest. I haven’t heard back from people. I don’t have a signed contract or anything.”

“If they’re willing to offer me something good, then I am willing to step up and bring a great fight.”

Jamaican Johnson had previously informally announced his retirement after a losing effort against Andrzej Fonfara in July.
