Terms have been reached for a super featherweight title eliminator between Juli Giner and Mexico's Miguel "Micky" Roman. The bout will take place April 1 in Barcelona, Spain.

The winner will be named the mandatory challenger to newly crowned World Boxing Council (WBC) 130 lb. titlist Francisco Vargas, who will face Orlando Salido on June 4 in Carson, California.

Negotiations were underway for the past several weeks between camps shortly after the final elimination bout was ordered by the WBC, who ranked Giner #2 and Roman at #3. Talks were intense but the two sides finally agreed to terms over the weekend to bring the fight to Giner's native Spain.

The show will be promoted by Gallego Prada Promotions.

Giner was previously in line to defend his EBU title versus France's Guillaume Frenois but has since relinquished the crown for what is the biggest fight of his career.

Frenois (40-1) will now face compatriot Sami Ziani (21-2-1) for the vacant title with date and site to be announced.

In earning the title eliminator opportunity, Giner (18-1-1, 8KOs) enters on a career-best 8th round knockout over then-unbeaten Romain Jacob last November on the road in France.

Roman (54-11, 41KOs) has spent his entire 13-year career fighting in the United States and his native Mexico. The 30-year old veteran spoiler has won 16 straight fights. His lone other title shot came in March '10, suffering a 5th round knockout at the hands of then-lightweight champ Antonio DeMarco.
