Turning Stone Casino, Verona, New York - IBO/WBA "regular" middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (24-0, 21KOs) beat down Grzegorz Proksa (28-2, 21KOs) over five rounds, dropping the Polish boxer three times in the process.

Proksa started the fight by boxing in circles and doing his best impression of Sergio Martinez. During the final minute, Proksa went down from a series of punches, but argued that it was a slip.

A series of hard punches in the fourth round sent Proksa down on his back when Golovkin pinned him against the ropes. Proksa was in a lot of trouble and being punished for the remainder of the action.

In the fifth, a right hand dropped Proksa on his face. He made it up, but seemed very hurt and the referee stopped the fight. Proksa showed heart, but he couldn't deal with the accurate, hard punches of Golovkin.
