If we are to believe every story, then Ramon Garcia will be one busy fighter in the next few weeks.

Chances are, that one of two fights to which his name is linked will in fact not happen. Not unless his twin brother Raul Garcia steps in to face the other.

Less than 12 hours after promoter Peter Rivera announced Garcia as the

opponent of choice for flyweight contender McWilliams Arroyo on an April 11 Pay-Per-View show in Puerto Rico

, another fight has come to surface one week earlier. Garcia’s handlers, Promociones del Pueblo insist their fighter will be facing streaking Filipino contender Jonathan Taconing on April 4 in Mexico.

Assuming the bout holds up, it will serve as the chief support to the super flyweight title fight between unbeaten Carlos Cuadras and Luis Concepcion at a location to be determined in Mexico.

Both bouts will air live on Televisa as part of its Sabados de Box series.

As for the April 11 bout reported by Arroyo’s handlers?

“Ramon is signed with our company and he just sign to fight Jonathan Taconing on April 4th,” clarified Oswaldo Küchle of Promociones del Pueblo. “We are (seeking approval from) WBC for the bout to be a (junior flyweight) title eliminator.”

Arroyo's promoter, Puerto Rico Best Boxing Promotions has yet to return an inquiry seeking comment.

Garcia (20-5-1, 12KOs) is a former 108 lb. titlist who came up well short in a second bid at alphabet glory with a points loss to Javier Mendoza last September.

Taconing (20-2-1, 17KOs) has won seven straight since suffering a heartbreaking technical decision loss to Kompayak Porpramook in their May ’12 title fight. The bout marks the lone time Taconing has ever fought for a major belt and also marked his lone trip outside of Philippines, fighting on the road in Thailand.
