The latest edition of The Boxing Lab, BoxingScene.com's official audio show, featured Gabriel Campillo who lost a very controversial decision to IBF light heavyweight champion Tavoris Cloud this past Saturday. Campillo appeared to win a minimum of 8 rounds despite getting dropped twice in the first round.

The fighter of Spanish descent admitted to giving the 12th round away as he thought that he already had the victory sealed and didn't want to take any risks.

"My corner had told me going into the last round that I had it in the bag. They told me to jab and move and not take chances," Campillo told The Boxing Lab.

Campillo was the WBA light heavyweight championship until he lost a controversial decision in January 2010 against Beibut Shumenov in another fight that he appeared to do more than enough to win . That loss which took place in Las Vegas along with Saturday's loss in Corpus Christi have Campillo wondering if he can get a fair shake in the United States.

"I am starting to think I can't win in the U.S. after what happened on Saturday. It makes me almost what to give up but my team said they will do everything possible to make it right," Campillo said as he mentioned that his team is petitioning the IBF for a rematch against Cloud.

Cloud was a sizable favorite heading into the fight. He seemed to have a lot of trouble with Campillo's southpaw style and was visibly frustrated throughout the fight.  Campillo said that he knew Cloud had a lot of power but always felt that his boxing skills would prove to be superior and lead him to victory.

"I wasn't surprised (at Cloud's power). I saw a lot of film on Cloud. I saw that he was a strong fighter but not a technical fighter.  I knew I had the better skills and I showed that on Saturday," said Campillo.
