A new date is coming together for the rematch between Tyson Fury and Wladimir Klitschko.

According to Klitschko's manager, Bernd Boente, October 29th at the Manchester Arena in Manchester is the new date being discussed for the fight.

The fight was scheduled to take place on July 9 in the same Manchester venue, but then less than two weeks ago Fury announced on his social media accounts that he badly sprained his ankle and withdrew from the fight. He was advised by doctors to keep off his ankle for six-to-seven weeks. It was the second time the rematch was forced to a new date after Klitschko previously withdrew with a training related injury.

Fury says “the fight will be postponed. Sorry to all fans, to let you all down, but injuries do happen.” Fury won a decision over Klitschko in November in Duesseldorf, Germany to capture the IBO, IBF, WBO and WBA belts.

The IBF title has since been stripped away from Fury, over his failure to make a mandatory defense against Czar Glazkov - who was stopped in three rounds by Charles Martin for the vacant belt - and then Martin was knocked out in two by Fury's countryman Anthony Joshua.

Fury reclaims the home advantage and believes he is capable of ending Klitschko's career with a second loss. Klitschko, at 40-years-old, admits his career is against the wall and losing is not an option at this late stage of the game.
