Con Sheehan will box on a world title undercard in the autumn.

The Peter Fury-trained Tipperary heavyweight, 27, has been handed a spot as part of the supporting cast to Tyson Fury’s WBO, WBA Super and IBO world heavyweight title rematch against former Ukrainian kingpin Wladimir Klitschko.

The rematch, which was officially rescheduled on Wednesday after the original date of July 9 was canned following the withdrawal of Fury, is being billed as ‘Repeat Or Revenge’ and will take place on October 29 at the Manchester Arena, with BoxNation providing the UK cover and HBO on tap with the US screening

.

Sheehan recently linked up with Team Fury in a training capacity and signed a managerial contract with MGM.

He has two fight dates in England in the next five weeks, first on September 24 at Tudor Grange Leisure Centre in Solihull on an MGM Birmingham card before boxing on October 1 at Emirates Old Trafford as part of Platinum Concultancy’s Zak Vali Annual Evening of Professional Boxing.

‘Con’, whose real name is Cornelius, is also set for an Irish homecoming in Belfast in November, with the card –– which has yet to be formally announced –– rumoured to be headlined by a rematch of April’s Fight of the Year contender between Jamie Conlan and Anthony Nelson.

Sheehan will be joined on the Fury-Klitschko rematch card by Fury’s cousin Hughie, who will defend his WBO Inter-Continental heavyweight title against Andy Ruiz, while it is understood that Irish welterweight champion Peter McDonagh will also be added to the bill.
