IBF/WBA super middleweight champion Carl Froch (31-2, 22KOs) sent some stinging comments to the king at 168, Andre Ward (26-0, 14KOs). Froch lost a twelve round decision to Ward in 2011. Froch avenged his other career defeat on Saturday night at the O2 Arena, with a twelve round decision over Mikel Kessler. According to Froch, there was some tension when he told Ward, to his face, that he wasn't a very exciting fighter. Ward was sitting ringside at the O2 Arena as part of the broadcast team for HBO.

“I had a little chat with him but I think I upset him because I said, stylistically, he’s not the most exciting fighter. Nobody is really getting excited about Andre Ward when he fights and I think that got his back up," Froch said. “I had a little chat with him and said, ‘I don’t mean any disrespect, I’m just being honest. I’m not talking personalities, I’m talking boxing and your style would put a glass eye to sleep’.

“People don’t rewind the tape and watch Andre Ward fight because he’s effective, he’s tricky and knows how to win a fight. He’s unbeaten since he was 12 years old, an Olympic gold medallist, unbeaten as a pro, but he’s not that exciting."
