Marco "Captain" Huck will defend his title on April 2 against a new opponent at the Gerry Weber Stadium in Halle/Westfalen. Originally, the WBO world cruiserweight champion, who is currently finishing up his training camp in Kienbaum, was going to face Giacobbe Fragomeni. But the former world champion from Italy suffered an injury.

"This weekend we received information that Fragomeni suffered a cut in sparring and will not heal fast enough," said Chris Meyer, CEO of Sauerland Event. "Then we immediately started looking for other potential opponents who are currently in training. We are confident that we will soon present a different capable challenger."

The event at the Gerry Weber stadium will definitely go ahead as planned. Therefore, WBO champion Marco Huck is not too disappointed.

"The important thing is to give the audience a good fight to see. I does not matter who I'm going against in the ring. The main thing is that the fans get their monies worth. And in any case, on April 2 I'll do my part to help," said the 26-year-old cruiserweight.

In addition, in the Gerry Weber Stadium will have two more title fights on the program. At heavyweight, 27-year-old WBO Intercontinental champion Robert Helenius will face former WBC heavyweight champion Samuel Peter (Nigeria). Also light heavyweight action with 25-year-old German Artur Hein, and Tony Averland of France, going head to head for the vacant European championship.
