Former IBF flyweight champion, Juan Carlos “Zurdito” Sanchez, is returning to the ring after more than a year of absence, and he'll be competing as a super bantamweight.

During the Julio Cesar Chavez statue unveiling, he had the opportunity to chat with WBC President, Mauricio Sulaiman, while expressing the desire to be a WBC Champion. Mauricio Sulaiman reiterated the total support of the organization.

“Zurdito” is currently ranked 16 in the WBC Ratings, and he could soon be facing  the former title challenger Daniel “Bad Boy” Rosas.

“I'm convinced that 2015 will be a great year for me. I have been training hard for the opportunities.  It's possible to fight “Bad Boy” Rosas in the super bantamweight division," Juan Carlos commented.

“It's very complicated for me to remain in the super flyweight division. For this very reason I am willing to do great things in another weight category. My mind is set on conquering the WBC title, and we are going to work incredibly hard in order to triumph."
