Multiple sources have informed BoxingScene.com that newly crowned WBO lightweight champion Terry Flanagan could soon be defending his belt against Diego Magdaleno, who is rated number one by that organization. This fight would take place on October 10th in Manchester, England.

Flanagan (28-0, 11 KO's) recently won the title on July 11th when Jose Zepeda could not come out for the third round after dislocating his left shoulder. Magdaleno (28-1, 12 KO's) earned his ranking by stopping Jose Gonzalez on June 26th in seven rounds in what was a WBO elimination bout.

A fight that is also being discussed for this show is a super welterweight bout between the undefeated Liam Smith (20-0-1, 10 KO's) facing Michel Soro (25-1-1, 17 KO's).

Promoter Frank Warren announced on Wednesday that Andy Lee will defend his WBO title against Billy Joe Saunders on this card as well. The fight was postponed from September 19th in Ireland after Lee became ill.
