Former three division world champion Fernando "Kochulito" Montiel (49-4-2, 37KOs) won a hard twelve round unanimous decision over Giovanni "Ruso" Caro (24-12-4, 19KOs) in Chihuahua, Mexico.  It was a tough fight for both, fought at a high pace, and hard punches exchanged over the course of the contest. Both fighters were cut in ther later rounds from head clashes. Montiel was cut on his right cheek and eyelide, while Caro had a bad cut on the bridge of the nose. The final scores were 114-112, 114-113 and 115-112 for Montiel.

In the co-feature, Alejandro Sanabria won a close ten round split decision over Saguilán Nery. The scores were 96-94 and 97-93 in favor of Sanabria and 92-96 in favor of Nery.
