Fernando Carcamo gave his hometown crowd a thrill, stopping Daniel Echeverria in three rounds Saturday evening in Ciudad Obregon, Mexico.

A perfectly time counter left hook put Echeverria on the canvas for the bout's lone knockdown. The southpaw beat the count but the referee deemed him unfit to continue, this bringing a halt to the contest.

Julio Barraza maintained his unbeaten record, but didn't seem to impress the judges in having to settle for a strangely scored 10-round majority draw with Edson Ramirez.

Barraza (13-0-1, 9KOs) won 96-94 on one card, but was overruled by absurd scores of 94-94 and 96-96.

Ramirez (13-2-1, 5KOs) held his own over the course of the rough-and-tumble affair, but appeared fortunate to have not suffered his first loss 2012. The streaking super featherweight from Mexico City - who is unbeaten in 13 starts since beginning his career at just 1-2 - managed to mark up Barraza, particularly effective with his left hook upstairs.

However, it was Barraza who controlled the action and the distance for the most part. The unbeaten prospect was quicker to the draw but perhaps offering just a little too much movement for the judges' liking.

No knockdowns were called in the televised co-feature, although both fighters hit the canvas. Ramirez went down in round nine due to a low blow, while Barraza slipped on a slick spot on the ring apron after throwing and landing a combination early in round ten.

The bout marked the second straight time Barraza appeared to be a clear win on TV Azteca/be IN Sport Español airwaves, only to have judges score as if they hold a grudge against him. The rising super featherweight prospect battered Adrian Young over 10 rounds last September, only for one judge to have him winning by just two points.
