Mexican icon Erik Morales (52-9, 36KOs), 37-years-old, is looking forward to his fight with Jorge Paez Jr. (37-4-1, 22KOs), scheduled for March 22nd at the Arena Monterrey in Monterrey, Mexico. Morales has not fought since a four round knockout loss to Danny Garcia in October of 2012. Morales wants to have two fights in 2014 and then retire from the sport. He hopes a victory over Paez will lead to a major name in the second half of the year.

Earlier today, Morales traveled to Toluca to start training for the fight.

"This is a fight where we believe we have what it takes to win. I will bring my experience with me. Paez is a tough opponent, who built his career little by little, but with a good preparation I'm positive that I will win. I will be [training] in Toluca with my brother Diego Morales, trainer Fernando Fernandez and fitness coach Raul Robles. I am sure that we are going to find a lot of sparring partners there and we'll prepare well," Morales said.
