IBF and WBO featherweight champion Ellie Scotney will face mandatory challenger and IBO beltholder Mea Motu in Manchester next month.

Scotney and the 19-0 (7 KOs) Motu will meet on the card topped by junior welterweights Jack Catterall and Regis Prograis at Cop-op Arena in Manchester on October 26 after Scotney’s promoter Matchroom won the purse bids to stage the contest.

Catford fan-favorite Scotney, trained by Shane McGuigan and also recognized as champion by The Ring, is 9-0, and has made it clear she wants big fights and unification contests.

“She’s fighting Mea Motu, who’s the IBO champion from New Zealand, quite a good fighter, actually,” said promoter Eddie Hearn. “She’s the IBF mandatory and we just want to unify. [Nazarena] Romero’s just won, she’s a really good fighter. You’ve got the WBC champion [Yamileth] Mercado, but she [Scotney] wants to unify and then move up to featherweight ASAP.”
