Moscwo, Russia - Sweet revenge rejected and a previous scandal cleared out, as Cesar Rene Cuenca suffered his second consecutive TKO loss to the Russian banger Eduard Troyanovskiy in a bid for IBF and IBO light welterweight titles. The 35-year old Russian was more than dominating this time, dropping the Argentinean twice en route to a one-sided win.

IBF #6 Cuenca defended his red belt against IBO champion Troyanovskiy in November 2015 in Kazan, losing with a bizarre accident at the end - which prevented "The Eagle" (also nicknamed Troya) from a big celebration. A rematch was requested by both fighters - for Cuenca to wrestle his titles back, and for Troyanovskiy to clear out all the inconsequences of their first meeting.

As in their first collision, the very light-punching Argentinean chose to fight at the distance, which was an odd choice given the Russian's height and reach advantage. El Distinto was partially successful in the first couple of rounds as Troyanovskiy struggled to find his range. As soon as he found it, Cuenca was on his road to a defeat. He was too defensive-minded even despite his tricks and constant lateral movement. On the other hand, the Russian used his jab well to keep the Argentinean at bay.

In the third, Troyanovskiy found room for his money punch - a right uppercut. He also used his left hand well, starting with it against a southpaw. Cuenca, also 35, had his face cut and bleeding in several spots after that round. In the fourth, it got even worse for the Argentinean. Troyanovskiy was in full assault mode and finally caught Cuenca with a huge right uppercut, sending him down. Cuenca got up but was soon down again - thankfully for him, referee Malik Waleed ruled it a push by Troya.

Feeling he is almost out of it, Cuenca got back to work in the fifth and he even had some mild success. It was bief though as round six was very huge for the Russian, who scored yet another knockdown with another uppercut followed by a liver shot. The Argentinean was forced to spit out his mouthpiece a couple of times to survive the round.

In the seventh, beaten and bleeding, Cuenca was being continuously hit again and again, did little in return and finally was forced into his corner after another mouthpiece went crushing down. Cuenca's corner saw enough and waved the fight off at 2:14 of the seventh round.

Having shown he is something more than a one-dimensional kayo artist, Eduard Troyanovskiy is in title contention with an eye-catching 14-fight knockout streak. He is 24-0, with 21 KOs now. Cuenca suffers his second straight loss and he is now 48-2, with just 2 KOs, and also  NC's.

Former fringe heavyweight contender and now a shell of a gatekeeper Konstantin Airich (23-16, 18 KOs) continued his sad journey with a TKO 2 loss to rising prospect and former amateur standout Sergey Kuzmin (7-0, 4 KOs).

Airich gave Kuzmin fits in the first round and looked solid... until a moment he collided with a right hand thrown by the Russian. Down he went and was even counted out but referee Alexander Kalinkin had a change of heart, allowing this fight to go on. Not for long as it has been stopped after a few more bombs by Kuzmin at 2:17 of the second

Cruiserweight Maxim Maslov (18-1-1, 11 KOs) hasn't shown explicitly his best skills against aging veteran Walter David Cabral (23-16, 10 KOs) but got the job done with a powerful left hook in the fifth round, which dropped the Argintenean for a count. Cabral was also sent to the canvas in round one.

In a battle of Youth and Experience, the former prevailed as 25-year old featherweight Valery Tretyakov (7-0, 3 KOs) got the better of durable Argeninean veteran Diego Herminio Alejandro Sananco (21-23, 6 KOs) over eight.

Tretyakov dropped his foe with a powerful right hook in the first, and then again at the end of the last round. Sananco valiantly fought in between, showing heart and determination, but lost on reflexes and speed.

Comebacking  heavyweight Vladimir Tereshkin (19-0-1, 9 KOs) dropped his Uruguayan opponent Yuberty Suarez Diaz (7-4, 2 KOs) with a body shot late in the first, then added another liver blow in the second, and finally finished him off at 2:21 of the samel round.

19-year old light middleweight prospect Nikita Miroshnichenko improved his record to 4-0, 2 KOs, with a solid six-round unanimous decision over Ukrainian Pavlo Sharun (0-3)

Pro debutant Sergey Lubkovich (1-0, 1 KO) made a short work of grossly incapable Latvian journeyman Jurijs Ivanovs (8-32-2, 5 KOs). Ivanov was down twice in the first and twice in the second round, before the stoppage came at 00:40 of the latter stanza
