A couple of days after the fact, Edner Cherry (34-7-2, 19KOs) is more than convinced that he did more than enough to take the IBF super featherweight title from Jose Pedraza in Cincinnati, Ohio. Despite out-working and out-landing the Puerto Rican on Saturday night he came out on the short end of the stick. A large majority of observers believe that Cherry should've had his hands raised in victory.

Instead, he was the recipient of an unpopular split decision.

"I think I did enough to win that fight. That's what happens when you leave the fights in the judges hands and you don't know what they're looking at, this and that," said Cherry to BoxingScene.com.

"But I did enough to win that fight, man. I thought I was going to be a world champion that night and even though you could see it in their faces when they said,'...and still', they were so excited, man. They were so excited that they got the win. But I'm just keeping my head up."

Larry Hazzard Jr. scored the fight for Cherry 116-112, while George Hill and Scott Maddox had it 117-111 for Pedraza. 'the Cherry Bomb' would more than welcome a rematch.

"If they want a rematch we can let it happen. But like I said, I'm a warrior, man. That's what I do, I fight."

When asked if he would file a protest with the IBF, Cherry responded - "Y'know what? I didn't even think about that because it would be a waste of time to try to do that and even get my point across, this and that."

Cherry, who is advised by Al Haymon, believes that he'll soon be lined up for another title shot.
